a few months ago i bought a e1505 with 1gb of 533 dual channel ram.

since ram has gotten pretty cheap i was looking at at getting 2gb's of 667 dual channel ram.

so my question is: can any ram be dual channel as long as the 2 strips are the same speed/size and the motherboard supports it?

the reason i ask is because none of the notebook ram on newegg states that it is dual channel, but it might just be because they are all being sold as single strips.

also a side question i have is can the e1505 support both pc2 5300 & pc2 5400? im not sure what the difference is but they are both listed as 667mhz

thanks for all the help guys

if you get two sticks of the identical size and speed, then yes, you can get dual channel. they often sell 2 gig "kits". i'm not sure about the 5300 and 5400 thing either, except that i have heard about compatibility issues with the 5400.
