I just bought a used Asus G46VW and it came with AUO B140RTN03.0 which is a 14" 1600x900 TN screen.

I want to upgrade it to an IPS screen.

I just ordered a B140HAN01.2 which has identical dimensions and same connector to my B140RTN03.0.

Some stuff are concerning me. According to panelook, B140RTN03.0 uses eDP 1 lane while B140HAN01.2 uses eDP 2 lanes. What does lanes supposed to mean? Will I have any problem with it?

B140RTN03.0 total power consumption is 4.2W while B140HAN01.2 is 5.4w

the reason I bring up the power consumption is I found this while googling

Because the new resolution is 1920x1080 it requires more bandwidth. This is the reason for the 2 lanes. The link below shows a replacement for FHD so it is more than likely a dual lane setup will not be an issue.
