Hello,
I am seeing some usb 3.0 flash drives, external drives, buffalo has an
usb 3.0 express card adapter, and other usb 3.0 products already and of
course that can only mean more to come in 2010.
Now from what I heard Intel wont support it until 2011 (not sure why
manufacturers still wouldnt include them in their notebooks to me it
just means Intel wont support them) so when will we see USB 3.0
notebooks 2010 or 2011?
Thanks for any replies!

The vast majority of notebooks that use intel chips also use intel chipsets and I believe motherboards as well (correct me if I am wrong). Therefore, you will be out of luck unless nVidia makes a 9400M replacement that supports USB3.0 and you buy a notebook that uses said replacement. In 2011 lightpeak is supposed to be arriving as well. Looking forward to that much more than USB 3.0.
If you want USB 3.0 speeds for an external hard drive, I would recommend you get a notebook that has an eSATA port. They currently support speeds up to 300MB/s. I'm using one right now and it's great. -
There is something else...
If the picture here is accurate - http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/09/buffalo-outs-usb-3-0-expresscard-adapter-we-see-a-trend-coming/
then USB 3.0 possibly won't be downwards compatibvle with USB 2.0 (USB 2.0 has 4 contacts, 3.0 seems to habe 5)
At the same time it should support USB 2.0 - how?...
