    Hello,

I have been looking around for a 13.3 or smaller notebook for some time now and I pretty feel as though I will end up purchasing the new Sony Vaio SZ680 CTO, however upon configuration I feel crossed between power or more battery time.

Anyways, the question that I hope to find an answer for is: How much of a difference is there in bettery life with using a T7700 C2D 2.4 witha 7200RPM 200 gb HD over say like T7300 C2D 2.0 with 160 gb Hybrid HD? I really want the extra power so as to be better in the future, however if the power consuption is extreme then I may have to re-think my actions.

Well thanks for your time. And please give me your thoughts. Which setup would you all recommend to buy?

I would go with the hybrid hard drive to save battery life - because of the flash memory cache, the drive won't need to be accessed as often due to much of the frequently accessed data being stored in it.

The processor will most likely not impact battery life that much. I would personally stick with a T7300 or T7500 because the T7700 doesn't offer enough of a performance increase to justify its price.

I recommend PortableONE.com if you want a Sony. They are an authorized seller and offer a lot - custom configurations, plus freebies.

thanks. I guess I will do the 7500 with HHD. I would try out Portable one, however with the student discount deal at the sonystyle online, it's difficult to beat. its basically a savings of $220.00 if you already planed on the $300.00 warrenty.

    Thanks again.
