Hi guy's! I recieved two days ago my WUXGA matte screen for my XPS M1530 and my first impression was..WOWWWW. Later I become more calm and critic. I am uploading some pics and please tell me honestly what do you think about it and particularly about back lighting for white and dark screen- is it even or uneven for you? Thanks a lot in advance!!

p.s.- first pic looks worse because of the exposure- actually white looks better

actually that what bothering s m is a little dimmer area in right side of the screen , do you think it is very noticeable?

Pictures never do good justice for how the screen actually looks. Personally I like higher resolution screens.
I think you can fix the problems with your screen. All you need is some reflective aluminum tape. Take the lid back apart and put some tape behind the screen. The backlight normally bleeds right through the translucent plastic sheet on the back of the screen. So whatever bleeds through can be magnified, making the screen a bit brighter.
This may make the bleeding look worse when the display is black, but I think you can solve that too. Like in the second picture, you see parts of the screen being brighter than the others. You should be able to cut this down if you were to make a better seal between the lid and the LCD display. You can probably do this with some tape as well. If you folded some tape, and made a flap which ran around your LCD bezel, when you were to install the lcd, the amount coming through would be less. You would have to use black tape or something along those lines.

Ok thank you! Actually I am not bothered about backlight bleeding so much, but more because of uneven lighting on right side of the screen. Is it repairable?

Before doing anything, let the screen run at full brightness for a few hours. Who knows maybe the CCFL bulbs need a little break in time.

I would think it is possible to fix. You can try putting reflective tape just behind the right part of the screen, and see if that helps.
