Hi guys, I would like ask you what screen brightness level do you prefer to keep on your laptops? Is the highest level always best choice?

when im on battery im usually on 50% (tilting the screen to compensate for lost visibility) and when my lappy is plugged in i usually have it full.

I almost always use 100%. But if I'm in a dark room before bed or something. With some laptops it can blot out or distort the screen and clarity. But most don't. ;)

I have heard that best setting is 2 levels before max for reading and photo editing and general using? Even for the eyes is better to be below 200nits. Is it true? Besides two steps back have reduce back light bleeding- it disappears completely

I think it's more of a personal preference. And it also depends actually how bright your screeen gets too! ;)

My house's rooms are quite bright, even with the shades drawn. And my desk is directly in front of a window. So, I use my screen at 13/15, or roughly 80%. The spacing isn't exactly linear though.

Looks nice, but honestly you are the decided of how it looks. If you like it stick with it. It is always hard to get a good accurate picture, so it is best to see your screen compared to other screens in the real world. From the picture, it looks really nice.

Is this the LG or the Samsung?

Mine runs at 15% indoors. Anything more than that distracts my eyes...

At 100%, I cannot even look at it for a min. It becomes like a flashlight...

i always have it at 100%.

I like things to be bright, i have two florescent light bulbs in my room right now without a shade/glass cover and it is too dim for me. The room i used to use had one of those lights on the ceiling that used those long florescent tubes and it was great, but too cold back there and no door.

I leave my screen at around 70% when it's not plugged in and 100% when it is plugged in. I used to lower it to the lowest brightness setting when I used my laptop in the dark when my roommates were sleeping, but that surprisingly strained my eyes, so I leave it at 70% in the dark now.

For general reading I use about 30-50% brightness, any higher and it starts to cause eye strain. When playing games (such as EvE Online) or watching a film I use 70-100% brightness as the game uses a black background with white text.

The brightness level all depends on how bright the screen can go. You should adjust it to your preference so that it does not cause eye strain and can be used comfortably for the length of time you use the laptop.

Guys, do you think this is even white? I made two pics with different ISO, he true is between them, closer to second one. Should I be worried about a little dimmer area in right side of the screen, or it is not very noticeable???

Nope, just ISO set on 400, that's why. Why they don't look good in your opinion?here is actually more properly look of my screen (the brighter area in the middle is because of the lamp in my room). The dimmer area in real are look not so strong- you have to look especially for that to see it. Is it that bad?

Yes, the camera makes dimmer areas to be VERY noticeable. How is you screen with white wallpaper- perfectly even?

do you have wuxga? I haven't seen absolutely perfect wuxga in white even. Seems like high def screens have this little problems caused by only one ccfl lamp..
