Just a shot in the dark, but did anyone manage to upgrade this or a similar model to a higher resolution display? It comes with a 1366x768 panel and I'd love to upgrade to a 1600x900 (or maybe 1920x1080?) as this one is broken.
I've read around the internet and found the schematic for it, but I can't tell from it if it has a dual channel LVDS cable or not, I can only tell it is 2 channel LVDS compatible.
I wonder if there's another model I can borrow the LVDS cable from? I looked up the 5520 model's schematic and the connector has an entirely different pin out, plus Dell's numbering system is so confusing it's frustrating trying to find something similar.
It's a bit old now but it's such a shame to waste it's good specs (i7 3612QM and a Geforce GT 630m) with such low resolution panel.

Today is your lucky day since there is in fact a similar model that has a higher res display, the 14R SE 7420. The HD+ cable has part number H58TK.

A few of us with Vostro 3460 (similar model) successfully upgraded using that cable:

Your upgrade should go smoother since the cable routing is exactly the same. Do keep in mind that you'll need to basically completely disassemble your laptop.

    Thank you fo
Thank you, you made my night! I thought I never got a reply to this thread but I googled and found my own post and your reply!
My Dell already comes with the H58TK cable, which is down right really lucky for me! Now I'm looking for a compatible screen. Thanks again!
