Hi everyone, I am upgrading a Gateway mx6214 Socket 479 mPGA 65 NM, it currently has a Intel Celeron M 420 1.60 GHZ processor, I want to replace this with a Intel Celeron M 560 2.13/1M/533 processor, now logically to me this should work, but I wanted to ask here before I spent the money. Thanks for your help!

Ah I see, that would have been a bad mistake to make..But I can't seem to find decently priced 450 anywhere. I don't think the upgrade would be worth anything more than 50 or so dollars. Thanks for the help.

Are you sure the Celeron M420 is socket 479. Unless i missed something on my research (its quite possible) the M420 is socket M

    Celeron M 420 SL8VZ (C0) 1600 MHz 1024 KiB 533 MT/s 12x 1.0-1.3 V 27 W Socket M April 2006 LF80538NE0251M

If this is correct, your best option would be to upgrade it with a C2D T5200 that most likely ust be the cheapest decent upgrade you can get.

    Core 2 Duo T5200 SL9VP (B2) 1600 MHz 2 MB 533 MT/s 12x 1.0375 - 1.3 V 34 W Socket M October 2006 LF80537GE0252M

How about posting the Chipset and Southbridge controller...This would help determine the best possible upgrade.

    Download and run CPU-Z.
Go to the "Mainboard" tab. You will see them listed here.
