Hi everyone, I am upgrading a Gateway mx6214 Socket 479 mPGA 65 NM, it currently has a Intel Celeron M 420 1.60 GHZ processor, I want to replace this with a Intel Celeron M 560 2.13/1M/533 processor, now logically to me this should work, but I wanted to ask here before I spent the money. Thanks for your help!

Celeron 560 is socket P though, not 479.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Celeron_microprocessors, use the link to search for your current CPU and you get a table, I think your best bet is the Celeron 450 -
Ah I see, that would have been a bad mistake to make..But I can't seem to find decently priced 450 anywhere. I don't think the upgrade would be worth anything more than 50 or so dollars. Thanks for the help.

Are you sure the Celeron M420 is socket 479. Unless i missed something on my research (its quite possible) the M420 is socket M

If this is correct, your best option would be to upgrade it with a C2D T5200 that most likely ust be the cheapest decent upgrade you can get.

How about posting the Chipset and Southbridge controller...This would help determine the best possible upgrade.
Download and run CPU-Z.
Go to the "Mainboard" tab. You will see them listed here.
Question regaridng CPU upgrade.
