So the monitor is completely unplugged from my vostro 1500, so now the LCD connector and inverter connector are exposed. Can I turn on and use the laptop with an external monitor, or will the laptop(or me) be fried or shocked?

I need to find a smaller scewdriver for the inverter, so replacement is postponed :/

Also, is there an easy way to tell if the inverter was broken or not?

    Thanks for your help
