Hello everyone, sorry if this is not posted in the right place
I see that GenTech offers sale options for 0.01$ with similar options for over 30$.
For example, Fujipoly pads for 0.01$ and 40$.
Do these end up being the same service? Will getting the 40$ option include more pads than the sale option?
I see that in the TIM section they don't have all their combinations as a sale option, so I'll probably look at the full-priced TIM options. I want maximum longevity, and they don't have CPU/GPU LM among the sale options.
Might be a bit of a nitpicky question, but what's the point of the internet if not to get all the details before making a big purchase
Normally I don't mind buying things and customizing them myself, but with Clevo parts not being available in my part of the world, I'd much rather pay a small premium to have the thermal stuff done by someone else so I don't mess anything up.
I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews about many resellers here, but GenTech's total comes out to much less than the competition, so they're probably who I'm going with.

Usually a 1 cent upgrade is a package on top of another upgrade or it could be another stock configuration. Fujipoly pads are highway robbery even for the 11 w/mk packs (50mm * 60mm for $15? Are you kidding me? That's not even enough to do one side of a video card), so unless Gentech has a deal to get bulk professionally packaged strips of the 17 w/mk ($30+) stuff, they're going to be paying highway robbery prices also just to obtain the pads for end users.
Unfortunately, the only way to get decently sized pad samples of any thermal pad that isn't Arctic, is from China ;( Thermalright makes 120mm * 120mm nice sized samples of their Odyssey 12.8 w/mk pads (just a bit smaller than Arctic's 145mm * 145mm), but you can't get them outside of China or TaiwanPapusan likes this.
Question: Is the GenTech 0.01$ thermal pad upgrade the same as the 40$ one?
