    How would an i5-450M / ATI HD 5650 go against my desktop's Q6600 / Nvidia 9800 X2?

just curious, haven't kept up on the new tech and how my dusty desktop is compared to the new laptop stuff out there

Your desktop will still kick the crap out of your notebook by far.
