i am looking for a budget and old notebook, for my college friend

    There are two:

    athlon XP M 2200+
    512 RAM
    40G HD
    onboard card
    3 hours battery life

    Celeron M 1.4G
    512 RAM
    40G HD
    ATI Radeon 9700
    3 hours battery life

They come about the same price

Is it true that athlon XP M 2200+ is better than Celeron M 1.4 in both performance and power saving? sligthly better or much better?

In terms of gaming ( well I don't mean playing Games like DOOM 4 or The Ender Scroll 4, I mean mainstream games like warcraft 3 ) Do you expect the athlon XP one to handle them well?

    Thanks

i think than Celeron M 1.4G with ATI Radeon 9700 would be better than Athlon XP Mobile 2200+. Celeron one have a separated video memory and dedicate video. All the onboard video memory for old model is shared. It will make it a drawback performance.

How much money do you have? I mean, if you had 700 dollors vs 500(both are considered budget) then you would have a totally diferent lappy.

    Dell E1505 - 759.00
    Intel® Core™ Duo processor T2300E (2MB Cache/1.66GHz/667MH
15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display
    512MB
    Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    60GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
    24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive
