    Hi everyone!

I have a Toshiba Satellite A40 and I'm now thinking of upgrading the memory in it.
Its northbridge is Intel i915PM and it should support up to DDRII 533 SDRAM with 2G but my laptop is now equipped with 2 512MB DDR RAM.

So my question is can I upgrade my laptop's memory to 2 DDRII 1G RAM?

    Thx a lot!!!

No, DDR and DDR2 have different slot configurations even though they have the same number of pins. So, a DDR memory wont fit in a slot designed for DDR2 memory and vice versa.

ok so get CPU-Z and check whether you have DDR or DDR2 there and get the upgrade you want as you cant intermix the two

I don't know if your Toshiba is like mine, but one of my memory slots is under the keyboard which is a bummer.
