I have one untested memory module (Samsung 1GB).

When I switch laptop (Toshiba - sorry no detailed description) on, there is one long beep (about 3-4seconds) then the laptop switches off itself.

Is it not compatible or faulty. I know on normal desktop if this happens, normally the memory module is not inserted properly, but this is not the case.

Thanx for yer feedback, cheers :)

    According to this website.
So yes it is probably the memory. Do you have any more details?
