    i know ive asked quite a lot of questions in the last couple of hours :D
    last one i hope

    im going to get the Q6600 for my NP9262 and i was wondering do i need anything else, like fan or anything as this will be the first time ive upgraded a CPU :D

    yeah im with fonduekid, thats VERY inappropriate.

    back on topic, the total cost of my upgrades, the Q6600, 320GB HD and 2GB ram will be £202.40 which aint bad :D

    You should check with the model of your system.
    I know you bought your 9262 from Rambo29
    You need to verify if your board supports the quad core cpu.
    I think the first revision of the board only supported dual cores up to the X6800
    The second revision gave support to the Q6600 and Q6700
    and the third revision gave support of the 45nm chips.

    It is also a good idea to upgrade the Bios before flashing the Bios to insure that the cpu is working correctly.

    well i looked in the manual and it has it in it,also i checked what revision i have
    its Revision D, will i be able to use the Q6600?

    Yes, Revision D supports the Q6600, Q6700 processors.
    I think the latest bios revision allows version D boards to use the 45nm chips, but I am not 100% sure on that.
