Hello all! Forgive me if I'm beating an old horse with this question, but I was unable to find a tutorial thread to explain this to me... (damn you broken search function!)

I recently received my ordered Crucial m4 SSD and was wondering how I go about cloning my HDD, despite it's capacity far exceeding my 128G SSD? Are there any recommended freeware programs that will do the job? Can I selectively clone files and leave out the garbage I don't want?

Thanks in advance for any help, hope everyone is having a great Christmas season!

There are several programs (Acronis is the one I am most aware of), but make sure you check the alignment after cloning to make sure it is aligned.

I just swapped HDD to SSD in my HTPC and it was so easy it was ridiculous.

Make backup image (I used Acronis 2011) of HDD
    Install SSD
Restore backup image (it shrank the partition automatically)
Check alignment (mine had no issues)
