    G'day,
Looking to upgrade my Ram, they have 2GB Sticks of DDR2 PC2-6400S-666, I was thinking of buying one, to add on. But seems as though my laptop has two 512MB Sticks, I'll take one out and have 2.5GB, the question is, is this compatible with my current Ram?

    512 MB DDR2-533 DDR2 SDRAM (5-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) (3-3-3-9 @ 200 MHz) This is the current one.

    Here is the listing.

    Cheers.

In certain situations, if RAM sticks do not match, then there's a possibility they won't work well together.
But predominantly, you can mix them and the system should work fine, because the faster RAM will usually downclock to the slower one.

Alternatively, if it turns out the RAM sticks do not work well together, you can still keep the 2GB and have a larger amount of RAM than before, then you could try selling the old 1GB (2x512) and purchase another 2GB for yourself

    Yeah, that's what I thought.

    Thanks for your help! :)
