The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    As I am one of those users stuck with having to edit the bios in hp/compaq in order to get it to work, would it be against the rules to post a guide on how to do it?

    I will probably avoid using the PBE, as I don't feel like the hassle of running it through wine, but rather using opensource based tools to modify the hex directly....

    That said, as the way I would be doing this would be possible for anyone, what would the guidelines of the forums be it would *technically* void the warranty if you did this....

    Anyone?
