Would it be possible to set up a RAID 0 on my laptop. I have 2 100GB hard drives and would like the extra performance. Is it possible to set up a Hardware RAID, or am I going to have to go with the software? If you have experience with RAIDing a laptop please post sugestions. Thanks.

If you want RAID 0 and that partition contains the OS, you need hardware RAID support built into the motherboard. What laptop do you have?

there is two seperate physical hard drives, it is an HP dv9500t

You don't have a RAID motherboard sorry
It won't work for your laptop.

I read about software RAIDs that are set up in the system OS, this should be possible. What have you all heard?

Can the new inspirons or vostros do raid 0?

I still dont see why it is not possible to set up a RAID 0 with my two different hard drives.

Its possible, but just software, you wont be able to run an OS on it.
