I know a bit about computers but I'm not quite sure about this. Hopefully you techies out there will be able to advise me.

I've been informed that Vista x86 will only support up to 3GB RAM and Intel say thier T7500 only supports RAM up to 667MHz. By my calculations then, to get the maximum perfomance i need a 1 x 1 GB 667MHz stick and a 1 x 2GB 667MHz stick of RAM in my laptop (Clevo M750RU).

Firstly can anyone confirm these statements for me or ahave I been misinformed?

Secondly, and most importantly, I was under the impression that in order to have dual channel bandwith capability (DCBC) both my RAM slots must contain the same memory module configuration. So with the above setup DCBC would no longer be possible. Therefore would 2 x 1GB sticks with DCBC perform better than the above setup which does not support DCBC?

Thank you in advance for any comments.

The maximum performance would be from 2x2Gb 667 Mhz sticks (modules) but the average of difference from 1x1gb + 1x2gb and the 2x2gb sticks is of average 3-5 % but still you asked for maximum.

3Gb > 2Gb whatever way you put them.

    Hope i helped.

    Yes you did help.

So you're saying that even though Vista x86 will not recognise 4GB of RAM it will still run faster than 3GB with the added bonus that i will benefit from DCBC?

    Cheers
