Don't see why not if you chipset and CPU supports DDR2-667.

All SATA 2.5" HDD's are compatible, but that model you picked is certainly not recommended (by me).

WD Scorpio Black 750GB highly recommended, but double the price (and well worth it).

Thanks everybody for your help. After reading that post, i want to be reassured. if i run the 3gbps harddrive, it will only run at 1.5gbps and just waste extra battery power?

Even if it does, the power drain on the battery will not be noticed at all.

Instead of getting the Seagate HDD as mentioned in the upper link, WD Scorpio Black is definitely a great suggestion due to speed and reliability.
If you don't need 750GB though, then get 500GB (which should also be cheaper by about $30 - the 500GB version costs $70 on NewEgg).

The Seagate 250GB 7200RPM drive you're looking at is dog slow, I have one in my work laptop. All of the Seagate 7200.4 drives are.

Look at a Western Digital Scorpio Black 500GB (WD5000BEKT), they should be around $70 as noted. It's an excellent drive, 5 yr warranty, and extremely fast. I have one in my HP EliteBook and it is a gem.
