    Hi there,

I'm looking to purchase a Clevo 570RU from two different resellers.

For the full setup, one is charging $2,314.00 and the other is charging $2,297.00.

Now, I know thats only a difference of 17 dollars, but there is a minor difference between the two purchases.

The more expensive one (2314) offers Corsair or Kingston brand RAM. To upgrade to 4gb would cost me an extra 220 USD.

On the other hand, the cheaper (2297) offers Samsung or Infineon brand RAM. To upgrade to 4gb costs only 140 USD.

What's the difference between these RAMS. I know the price difference is very small, and I'm very happy to pay an extra 17 dollars or even 80 dollars to get a better brand. I understand that quality ram is important. On the other hand, if Samsung and Infineon equal Kingston and Corsair, well of course I will go with the cheaper deal.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I would go with the cheaper, as far as brand name goes does not matter except for maybe overclocking and that is debatable. Samsung is the worlds largest producer of RAM and the 2nd largest semicunducter company (behind Intel) and the worlds largest electronics company in the world. Neither company is going to put "bad" RAM in there notebooks so go with the cheaper.

As long as they have a lifetime warranty (which I'm pretty sure they both do), then it really doesn't matter what brand name you go with.

I have seen far more Kingston and Corsair RAM fail in my job than the other two. In asking the various factories what their preferred brands are, they usually tell me that it doesn't particularly matter. I have seen Corsair RAM be inexplicably incompatible with hibernation on some ASUS models, that's about the only significant difference I can think of.

    Go for the Samsung!
