I am planning to buy RAM for my desktop pc but i am unsure as to exactly what kind I need. I was wondering if anybody knew of a program I could run that would tell me exactly what type I need, or if you could explain to me how to check. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

CPU-Z should be able to tell you the specs or since it is a desktop you can just open the case and look up the labels on the RAM itself.

Well, i'm not encouraging you to get their products (since it's a li'l it expensive :p), but i think you could use their tools to determine how many memory slot are there on your computer and recommend what type of memory you'll need. It's a very neat tools
