So I recently bought and installed a 4GB kit of RAM to replace the 2GB kit that was in my HP dv6500t Special Edition notebook. My question is there anything special that I need to do in order for my videocard to take advantage of that extra RAM that I installed when I play games on my notebook?

My videocard is a 8400M GS 128MB if that matters. Thanks!

No, it is an auto think with Nvid. There are tweaks in WinVista Manager for system performance, but video card is automatic. On my system I went from around a gig to like 1.2 I believe when I upgraded one slot to 2GB.

Its automatic, if you check your gfx card properties, you total usable memory will be something around 1900mb now with 4gb. With 2gb you only see like 900mb

doesn't matter anyway. you won't notice any performance increase.

EDIT: should've been more specific, you wont notice a performance increase in video, but of course you will see a performance increase in system speed with the bump in ram
