Which is better 4gb ram or 6gb ram for the i7-720qm. Is 6gb really worth the extra $225? Or is 4gb enough?

See here to see if you really need more than 4GB:

As I think you will be using Sony Vegas on your system, I think you should find it beneficial. This is for business right?
Consider this to tell if the $225 price is worth it:
You will be giving up a 2GB sodimm module in exchange for an 4GB module (I'm also assuming this is for a new notebook you're configuring to buy).
What is the price of RAM for you for the identical spec'd sodimm RAM modules for a 2GB and a 4GB sizes? If they cost more than the $225, then go ahead and order it along with the new computer. If, you can get the 4GB module for less than $225 (subtract from the price what whatever you think you can sell the 2GB module for too), then buy it separately.
Make sure that whatever you decide, you have a 64bit O/S and the main program you're using will be able to put the additional RAM to good use (is Sony Vegas a 64bit app).

thank you.

Do you have the extra $225? If you have plenty of extra cash (unlike me) then do it, it will be beneficial but if you notice it or not depends on how you will use your comp. Intensive gaming, running multiple programs, video editing then yes you will notice. If your just everyday computing and dont have an extra $225 then pass on it because you wont really notice the difference. What else can $225 get you also? Maybe better video, a less angry spouse
