I have an Alienware M15X with these specs:

    224-8215 : Alienware M15x, Cosmic Black
    317-3835 : Intel Core i3-350M 2.26GHz (3M cache)
    320-0934 : 15.6-inch WideHD+ 1600x900 (90 0p) WLED
    313-8565 : Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burne r (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
    430-0684 : Internal Bluetooth 2.1 Mini-Card - 2.1 Enhanced Data Rate
    341-9754 : 500GB SATAII 7,200RPM
    421-1400 : Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
    320-8991 : 1024 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730
    312-0205 : Primary - 6-cell (56Watt) Lith ium-Ion Battery
    317-2404 : 4GB Dual Channel Memory (2x 2G B DDR3)
430-0686 : Intel WiFi Link 5300 802.11A GN Half Mini Card
410-3942 : Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student, English
    330-0171 : S and P Drop-in-Box Marcom for DHS Notebooks

I bought an 8GB 1600 Mhz, 204-pin, DDR3 memory kit. I intsalled it, but it will not boot into the BIOS with both sticks and will only boot just past the BIOS with one stick. What am I doing wrong?

Try a single stick config with one of the sticks, then try the other. It is possible that you have a defective stick in your kit. It happens, if that is the case, just RMA the RAM.
