    Hey everyone,

I recently decided I wanted to put a bit more RAM in my laptop and since I've never done any upgrading myself, I had a couple of questions.

    1) Currently, the laptop has 3 sticks of 2GB RAM in the slots. I believe that with my edition of windows, 16GB is the maximum amount of RAM I can get any use out of. Can I put an 8GB stick in the free slot on the bottom of the machine taking my RAM up to 14GB or can I only use 2GB/4GB sticks?

    2) If I do get the 8GB stick, does it matter that it isn't the same brand or size as the other 3 sticks?

    3) When I go to buy the RAM, what do I need to look out for to make sure its compatible?

    My current RAM:
    ASU1333D3S9DR8/2G 2GB 204p PC3-10600 CL9 16c 128x8 DDR3-1333 2Rx8 1.5V SODIMM RFB, Kingston, CNF, ASU1333D3S9DR8/2G - MemoryTen

The 8GB that I'd ideally get:
    Newegg.com - Patriot Signature 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model PSD38G13332S

    The 4GB I'd get if I can't use an 8GB stick:
    Newegg.com - Kingston 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 Laptop Memory Model KVR1333D3S9/4G

Thanks for reading the wall of text and helping a newbie out,
