Hi there guys, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post, about a week ago I got a Toshiba C650D PSC16A-006011 model, which is capable of running 8GB of RAM via 2 x 4 GB sticks, at the moment there is just 1 x 2GB stick, what I am wondering is what sort of RAM do I need to buy that will work with the laptop? Looking to get 2 compatable 4 gig sticks reasonably cheap, will something like this fit?

    2X 4GB Samsung DDR3 PC3 12800 1600MHz 204 PIN Sodimm RAM Model M471B5273DH0 CK0 | eBay

RAM type shows as DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 (non-ECC) on crucial scan

The one ram stick that is in the laptop has this on it, Samsung, 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-8500S-07-10-F2, M471B5673FH0-CF8 and on the back it says 2GB DDR3 1066MHz

Thanks in advance guys, this has confused the heck out of me!

What you need is DDR3 SODIMM, any 2x4 GB kit should work just fine. I would look up what is the maximum RAM frequency supported by your CPU and buy that from any reputable brand: Samsung, Crucial, Kingston, Corsair, G Skill, etc.

That Samsung RAM will work, it will not run at 1600 MHz if your CPU doesn't support that frequency, but if it doesn't, it will just run at whatever max frequency your CPU supports.
