Right now I have 3GB of RAM @ 667MHz with Vista 32-bit, my graphics card will not take any of it which is nice. I was wondering if it's a good or bad investment to purchase 2x 2GB @ 800 MHz? I didn't know how much this would boost my performance. At Newegg the price for it is only about $55.

I couldn't install Vista 64 bit so I'd just be stuck with 3.2 GB or whatever it is... The Toshiba Qosimo seemed so zippy at Best buy with it's 800 MHz RAM... (or maybe that was DDR3 O.O)

800mhz ram will just downclock back to 667mhz. That is the maximum your chipset supports.

So as flip said will do you no good so not worth it.

Are you having issues? Or just bored? I ask because if you say your issue maybe it can be solved in a different way.

I just wanted to see if I could make my system any quicker, changing the processor is beyond my level so I was going to attempt RAM. darn. I thought that it would fit 'cause it's DDR2!

It will fit and work, except your chipset can only support up to 667mhz causing 800mhz to downclock.

The Qosmio was also aided by a faster processor P7350 2.0 Ghz vs your 1.83 Ghz T5550. You're better off with a CPU upgrade, but you did mention you weren't comfortable doing so.

I could of answered! OK your weak point if there is one is your CPU? You can put say a T8300 or T9300 2.4 and 2.5. What OS if 32bit can't improve much on RAM/
