I have the HP DV6326 and I would like to know the brand name RAM? I'm thinking about just getting two sticks of Crucial 1GB, but I don't know yet. I opened the back of the case but without my glasses I can't see sh$t.

Any brand of ram should work as long as its PC2-5300 DDR2 SODIMM stick of ram. Crucial/OCZ/Kingston/Corsair are good brands with good warranties on their ram.

As Kdawgca said, any brand will do fine, such as Corsair, Kingston, OCZ and others. Just make sure the RAM you purchase is SODIMM DDR2 PC5300/5400 or PC4200/4300. GO for whichever is the cheapest, as there is no real performance difference between the two frequencies.

Since I've been using Crucial brand RAM for some years now with no problems I might as well stay with them. I can't believe the price of RAM these days is so inexpensive.

Yeah, the prices for 1GB sticks plummeted in what seems a short time.

I wonder if the price will go down any further? Maybe I should just wait a month or two and see.

There quite low at the momnt, and a few manufacturers are offering some faster 667 MHz RAM with a CAS latency of 4, which may be somewhat enticing to some people. Wait a couple of weeks, but as it stands at the moment, you won't lose anything by buying RAM now, since its quite low in price.

Now I'm wondering what to do with 2 512GB sticks of RAM? I have the worst time trying to sell stuff online. Maybe I just might give it away to some poor guy who bought a laptop with only 512GB. :)
