I am getting F3SV with 1 GB RAM.

In case I find it less, will I be able to buy another 1GB here in India?

any idea how much a 1GB 667 costs in India?

    Thanks

Corsair costs around 3000 bucks, at Nehru place. A bit of leeway is there, depending on who you buy it from. it's better to buy it outside. Customs and import duties suck.

    Thanks Sess!

right now I use XP with 512 MB RAM. And most of the things I want run good enough except for 3Ds Max. 1 GB would be ideal. But I am not sure with Vista.

I need to get RAM here in India if i find it insufficient. 3k isnt that bad considering i once got a 512 MB RAM for my desktop for almost that much

Hmm.. but ordering it along with the laptop, it'd be about 2K, at the outside. You must be getting it from the states, or somewhere else. It makes more sense to buy there.

If i get it from there, I save 1k..

but if I dont need the extra 1 GB, I'd be saving 2K..

Lol i know i am being cheap.. but right now thats all i can afford to be. probably will remove Vista

Its most likely Rupees. Its around $1 equals around 40 rupees. So, that 3000 rupees comes to around $70.

    Thanks a lot Abhi.

Here, I checked last week and the price for 1GB Transcend DDR2 667 was 2400 Rs.

Also I was told that 2GB isnt available in India.

shouldn't the price of known brands be same everywhere in the country? :(

    Not necessarily...
Am not sure where in India you are from but the prices would tend to be higher in the small towns due to low volumes

On a side note, 2 GB is available here but obscenely priced...2 X 1 GB would be the way to go till 2 GB prices fall
