SORRY THREAD TITLE SHOULD SAY RAM PROBLEM...
basically i have 2x2gb ddr2 chips in my computer. I switched the motherboard to a better one, and now only 2gb of ram is available for some reason. It may be because i accidentally touched one ofthe chips with a magnetic screw driver im not sure.
When the first dimm is inserted on its own in either slot, 2gb is shown in the bios/os. When the second dimm is inserted on its own in either slot, 1gb is shown in the bios/os. When both dimms are inserted in either slot, only 2gb is shown in the bios/os. The motherboard i bought is a p5kpl-cm. I ran the bios memory test, and it showed no errors with my ram. What could be the problem? Perhaps my bios needs to be updated?
    im a bit stuck :(,
    thanks
