I have a few questions about upgrading the RAM on a dv6500t. Currently, it has 2GB. I'm considering upgrading, but I'm not sure about a few things.

    1) What's the maximum amount of RAM the motherboard can support?
    2) What kind of RAM does it take?
    3) Is there any way to tell the configuration (2x 1gb, 1x 2gb, etc.) without opening it up?

    Thanks

Incidentally, I have the same laptop. If you are looking to upgrade the memory in it, I can testify that OCZ's 4GB (2 x 2GB) kit of DDR2 800MHz SO-DIMM memory works fantastic in it. You won't be able to take advantage of the 800MHz speed since the laptop tops out at 667MHz, (and the laptop will automatically adjust the memory speed accordingly), but it's a good investment if you decide to sell the kit later on.
