What would be the better choice:
Kingston HyperX 4 GB (2 + 2) PC2-5300 667MHz CL 4-4-4-12
or
Kingston HyperX 3 GB (2 + 1) PC2-6400 800MHz CL 5-5-5-18
And what would faster speed or lower timings do for me ? Right now I think my timings are 5-5-5-15 and theye're running at 667 MHz. Will I feel any difference going to 4-4-4-12 ?
You can see my specs. in my siganture...

For the T61, both will run at the same frequency and timings, as the PC2-6400 will downclock to PC2-5300, 667MHz and timings -> 4-4-4-12.
Timings won't affect the overall performance of the system in anyway. It improves data fetch (by a small amount) when running intensive programs. -
Okay, so when I'm watching movies, surfin' the Internet, spamming my friends with e-mails and typing away in Office, then I won't feel any difference in performance with lower timings ?

and yes,you wont see any difference! -
Id go for the first option. In non intensive apps youll have 1GB of ram more and when the time comes for such an app it will work better for you. But yeah going from 5-5-5-18 to 4-4-4-12 did absolutely nothing for me.

OP: And why Kingston HyperX ? If you're in the US, you can check out other modules as well -> G.Skill, OCZ, Patriot etc....
RAM question: High speed or lower timings ?
