Hey Folks-
I have a Dell B120 celeron laptop. This baby has 256 MB ram and 40 GB HD. I am planning to upgrade its Ram from 256 MB to either 512 MB or 768 MB.
I believe there are 2 slots in there, one with non removeable 256 MB and another slot for the upgradation up to 2 GB.
Can I just buy 512 MB and add to the second slot (first one untouched)? Or I can only have rams equally distributed like 256 MB each slot or 512 MB each slot?
And is it relatively easy to upgrade the ram?
Will appreciate your replies!!!!

Per Kingston Memory Website:
Standard Memory: 512 MB (Removable) or
1 GB (Removable)
Maximum Memory: 2 GB
Expansion: 2 Sockets
CPU & ChipSet: Intel Celeron M 1.4 GHz
Bus Architecture: PC Card; USB
Mfgr's System P/N's: N/A
Comments MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS for Dual Channel mode. -
Also note that the memory is sodimm DDR2.
Two 1 gig modules are quite cheap now adays.
I figure, no more than $20. for the both of them.
Lots of these on Craigs list or ebay. -
Buy 2* 1GB sticks, very cheap and it'll be an insane upgrade, don't even bother buying 512MB sticks as the 1GB sticks are so cheap anyways. Around $20-30 only.
And get SO-Dimm DDR2 of atleast 667Mhz(according to dell)
