Hello All...First time poster here. A brief rundown of my specs are as follows

    Genuine Windows® Vista Ultimate Edition
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7700 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB, 4MB Cache)
Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch LCD (1280x800)
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)
Samsung 2.5" 64GB Solid State Drive
Slot Load Blu -ray Disc (BD/DVD/CD read/write)
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT

That said, I am wanting to add additional RAM on my own. What will give me the most bang for my buck. Thanks in advance.

Get some 2GB 667MHz sticks from the RAM Deals thread and you'll be set.

Since Dell gave you two 512mb memory modules, you can simply buy two 1Gb Pc 5300 667Mhz sodimms. You laptop supports 4Gb of memory, so you can buy a single 2Gb Pc 5300 memory card, so later you can upgrade to 4Gb.

Thanks for the quick replies Greg and K-Tron. And thank you powerpack. I have to say this site played a crucial role in my spec layouts for this purchase. I spent the better part of two weeks at work(during my down time of course..lol) browsing the posts here. Quality information, from quality people. With the low price of RAM these days I think I am going to go ahead and just max out my RAM right now. So thanks for the advice.

wow notebook memory is dirt cheap that $90 for 4gb of memory. I just bought 2 gb of pc3200 memory a few months ago for $105 a gb.

DDR2 prices are insanely cheap, just wow.
Now think of how much dell and hp make when the upgrade to 4gb is like $350 more for 4gb from 2gb, and they dont even install high performance memory, they use retail unbranded memory. Wow, they are really banking off of dumb customers, but I guess that is how business's thrive these days, cheating the consumer and raping them for the little things.

Yep..Dell wanted an additional $475 for the extra 3GB of RAM. Simply amazing. If I was more confident I would have gotten the default HD and installed the 64GB SSD myself as well.

lol yeah, from the crucial website 4gb (2gb x2) of 800mhz ddr2 memory is £150,

but to upgrade from 1gb memory to 4gb memory (667 mhz!) from the dell site is £240 ^_^
