I am in the market for an extra gig-stick for my new laptop (sager np2090). I was just wondering which of these two sticks is better (both found on newegg.com)? Also, are these sticks compatible with my laptop? Thanks for the help.

    CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Notebook Memory Model VS1GSDS667D2

    39.99 plus shipping/tax

    Crucial 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) NotebookMemory-OEM

    $44.99
    ($24.99 after $20.00 Mail-In Rebate) + shipping/tax

also, is adding 1 gig (making the total 3 gigs) worth it??? especially considering the low prices on RAM...

Yes almost any DDR2-667 (PC2-5300/5400) will work in the Sager NP2090/Compal IFL90.

I say go with the cheaper one since they should both have lifetime warranties.

2gb should be all you need in vista though 3gb might help out in gaming/memory intensive programs.

I think if you get a 1 GB stick, it will become obsolete if you choose to have 4 GB later on. So if I were you, I would wait off till the laptop actually showed up and give it a test drive to see if it actually needs more than 2 GB of RAM for what your doing. The prices might be lower then. You probably should opt for the 2 GB stick, so your 1 GB stick would not be forgotten if you choose to go to 4 GB.

ya i was actually thinking of that... however in order to use 4-gigs you would haveto use 64-bit vista... which has alot of problems at the moment and isn't very good 4 gaming purposes... since 32-bit vista supports 3 gigs... it makes a lil more sense...

I'm not sure that 32 bit support 3 GB. But it would save you money going with 4 GB.

Well, you are missing a key piece here. What latencies are the two RAMs? If one had a lower latency, that would be they one you want. Given how close they are in price though, I am pretty sure they are both CL 5, so I would just get the cheapest one.
