    Hello All,

I have been a member for a while but have not posted until now. I was not sure if I should have posted this here or in the Acer forum but thought as it may be of interest to all users it would be more appropriate to post here.

I am in the process of trying to upgrade my Acer Aspire 9423WSMi Notebook from the standard 1GB of RAM to 4GB in the form of two matched 2GB modules. Unfortunately I am experiencing problems with the upgrade.

When both of the supplied 2GB memory sticks are installed the initial Windows XP screen displays and then the screen goes blank. If I install just one of the 2GB sticks the laptop starts as normal. I have tried installing the sticks in each of the two available memory slots and each stick will work in either slot as a stand alone unit but when trying to use them together I get the above detailed blank screen.

I would be most grateful for any help anyone is able to provide.

    Many thanks in advance.

    All the Best,

    Rob54.
