    right now this dell 700M has the memory linked above. i have no idea if newer rams will be compatible with this notebook. what would be 1GB or 2GB memory stick that will work with the 700M if it currently uses the ram linked above? thanks!!!

    The maximum memory a 700M can take (according to Dell) is 2GB. Since there are two slots in the machine, I'm guessing this means that each slot can take a maximum of 1GB (Though if you have an extra stick of 2GB DDR lying around, it never hurts to try - I'd imagine those are pretty pricey at this time, though). That being said, any speed of DDR memory, up to 1GB in size, should definitely work in the 700M.
