    RAM upgrade to NP700Z5A-S04SE please help out

    After Ive started my design school i need to run Autodesk Revit 2014 and MS-Project and many other programs that will eat my memory.

    Ive 6gig in total, 4 inside the computer and 1 slot removable ( 2 gig )

    So i want to upgrade them with 8gig DDR3 memory, which would upgrade my computer up to 12gig in total.

    But after reading at offtek.co.uk , that my model can only read up to 8gig in total and the rest of the 4gig extra would be a waste of memory and money, and i should rather go for just and 8gig ram upgrade in total.

    This why i ask here if that is true ? or false. because i want to pump it up as much as i can.

    You'll have 12GB RAM total with an 8GB SoDimm.

    Make sure you have the most up to date BIOS (upgrade before you install the additional RAM).

    Is that something you could help me out with as well. Im pretty weak in this computer world. i have checked SW-update, and not further update are to be updated, so guess im good ?
