Hey guys, can someone please tell me the differences between these two types of RAM? Is one better than the other?

SO stands for Small Outline. They are smaller modules than the standard desktop modules.
Notebooks use SODIMMs.

SODIMMs = LAPTOP
DIMM = DESKTOP
effortless, I think you get the point -
Well the thing is I was looking at two models of the Clevo M860TU. One uses DIMM and the other uses SO-DIMM. So would one be better than the other?

Both use SODIMMS. All laptops use SODIMMS.

And I do believe that is a picture of DIMM RAM. -

actually there are a few laptops which use desktop memory. (all of them much too old to remember)
My old northgate had a 1mb sdram card in it, which is full length pc 66 memory.
This was a 9" laptop, well the screen was black and white, and the physical dimensions of the screen could house about a 13" screen.
Pretty sweet system, it runs dos very well to this day
