I just got a lenovo s10 and know very little about RAM besides how to install it. I read that the s10 requires pc5300 so-dimm memory and I wasn't sure if i could install pc6400 instead as I'm not sure about the difference?
I figured that if you put 6400 in a slot that supports only 5300 it will just downgrade the 6400 to 667 speed but just wanted to get a definitive. I've seen that most pc5300 ram has a better latency but 6400 has higher speed but if the 6400 will get lowered to 5300 I'd rather get the one with the better latency...i think...
which of the two would be better to buy? Or any other suggestions?

Need 2GB so-dimm for a new lenovo s10 that originally has 1GB installed but I'm guessing thats just a 512 in the so-dimm slot in the back and the additional 512 soldered on. So need a single stick of 2gb even though 512mb will be extra.
Thank you for any help.![]()

PC6400 (800mhz) downclocked to 667mhz (PC5300) will be faster because it'll have a lower latency (as a result of the downclocking). still, you won't notice any difference, so just get what's cheapest.

Alright, thanks a lot.
Will just get the pc6400 because it's strangely cheaper.
~Thank you.
RAM: pc 5300 or 6400 (lenovo s10)
