hi, I am currently considering 2 laptops:

    ASUS G73JH-A1
    Alienware M17X2

one of the difference is that G73JH has FHD and AW has RGB...

can someone technically minded explain to me the difference? Any examples with graphics quality?

    cheers

    FHD simply means Full HD.

RGBLED on the other hand, is Full HD, while kicking the screen on the G73jh around the backyard and kicking sand over it.

RGBLED screens have a larger color gamut, meaning that you can enjoy greater color accuracy.

A photo won't do it justice. The RGBLED screens almost certainly show more colors than your current monitor can ;) Some people have complained that the RGBLED is oversaturated and it "makes their eyes bleed", but to each their own. You might consider seeing if any of the models at your local Best Buy have an RGBLED instead of a WLED, and you can see the difference yourself. I know that at least one person that got an Envy returned their XPS16 because the color was too much. But they're a photographer too, and very sensitive to those things.

Are RGBLED screens actually available in-store? I haven't heard of any yet.

Some high-end TV's have them. It's worth checking into if your local BB has a Magnolia section. It can at least get you a good idea about the differences between WLED and RGBLED. I don't know for sure, though. Can't find anything at the moment.

That's a lousy picture, like Pitabred mentioned, a picture won't do it justice, I have the RGBLED screen on my SXPS16, and it's simply amazing, there are times where I simply sat and stared at it. The only bad thing is now I can't stand any other screen.
