    Hello, a few questions:

is the Mobility x1400 superior to mobility x600, x700, or x800?

And what would the equivalent of a x1400 mobility be to an nvidia product? (maybe it's similar to 6600go?)

Even equivalents to desktop video cards would help. I'm guessing x1400 is equivalent to a radeon 9600xt, but I'm not sure.

Why do they make it so complicated

I'm asking because Dell has come out with x1400 optional upgrade to their inspirion 6400 series, which makes it more appealing as it also has intel duo core. Also, there's the chance that dell might introduce x1600 and maybe even x1800 mobility, but those might be reserved for more expensive systems.

From what I gather, x1400 and x1600 share the same size GPU (90nm) so i figure the x1600 would also work the 6400 inspirion can handle a x1400

Would I be better off sticking with the integrated Intel GMA 950 and then waiting for mobility x1600/x1800 to drop in price and get those as upgrades?

I'm note sure how upgrading the video card on a laptop works so any help would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

    * 90nm is the size of the transitor geometry. It has nothing to do with GPU physical size.
    * Upgrading from integrated is most of the time impossible or at least ver costly
