I am thinking about buying a Laptop for video/audio editing and gaming. Should I buy 4 GB of ram AND the 64 bit system upgrade or should i stay with 2GB and go with the 64 bit system OS??

What are the pro's of a 64 bit OS??

In my understanding, unless you have software that is written specifically for 64-bit architecture, it won't make that much of a difference.

But with multimedia applications like the ones you're looking to do - the more RAM, the merrier. ALWAYS.

Yes, it's smart. RAM upgrades are cheap and really, very easy. I don't know about the 5792/93, but in general they are a cinch.

maybe you should ask a smart question like "is the specialty software i use for video/audio editing supported by a 64 bit OS?"

it sure would be stupid for you to spend the extra money and then realize that XYZ Audio Editing Application only supports 32 bit.

it's amazing to me that you have 5 or 6 replies and not a single poster suggested this.

All 32-bit apps will take be able to run on a 64-bit OS. Not the other way around, though.
