I currently have S6231 relatively stock besides an upgraded hard drive but now I feel it needs some more ram. The 2x256 (PC2700) ram just isn't cutting it anymore as it seems like it lags for anything other than websurfing/wordprocessing. So, I am interesting in buying a single 1GB stick for 1280MB ram altogether. I was planning on buying it from this site, probably Choice 1 or Choice 2. Probably the Kingston as its cheaper, my question to you is even though it states it is 200PIN ram, does this guarantee it will work/fit in the laptop? The only reason I am asking this is because I notice on the product listing page some of the 200PIN ram say like 'Apple, Toshiba, Dell, etc.' specific.

200 pin or SODIMM will fit as long as your computer takes SODIMM 200 pin. Not sure why they designate one brand (HP, Apple) etc over another. I use PNY SODIMM 200pin and the original ram was hynex or something like that. I see that your computer takes ddr pc2700 with a max of 2048mb, So what you are looking at will fit. verified at http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=LifeBook+S6231
