    Hello.
I'd like to upgrade the ram of an HP Envy beats, 14.5 Inch: Intel i5 2410M, 640gb Hdd, Ati Hd 6630.
    It has 6Gb ( I guess 1x4gb + 1x2gb ) so I guess, I'll need to buy a 4Gb.
But I don't know what kind of Memory I should buy ?
Could you please tell me ?

    Thank you ;)

Is this the laptop that you have?
HP ENVY 14 Beats edition series | HP Official Store

If so, then you can get DDR3 1333 RAM. Either PC3 10600 or 10666, as they're technically different ways of saying the exact same thing.

To my understanding, it's highly recommended that you buy RAM in matching pairs. So, you should not buy 1 4GB stick, but 2x4GB.

I just bought 8GB GSkill RAM from Newegg and it's working great:
    Newegg.com - G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-8GBSQ

    Thanks for replyng ;)
    So even if I have a 6Gb, I can't just remove the 2Gb and add another 4Gb ?
    I have to buy again 2 x 4Gb ?
    So I won't need the 6Gb anymore ?

    Thank you ;)

You can check the brand of the 4gb RAM you already have inside your ENVY, and source for a new 4GB stick of the same brand and model. Saves you some money this way.

HP uses different brands of 4GB RAM. So far I have seen Samsung and Micron RAM. You can download CPU-Z to see what type of 4GB RAM you have.
