    Yes and yes. That memory will only run at 667MHz (maximum supported memory speed on the 1720 and M1330), though.

    Also make sure you have a 64bit operating system since a 32bit OS can only recognize ~3gb of ram.

    I just put 64 bit on both. The inspiron was a pain in the @$$ to find all the drivers but I got it going and it is running nice. Now I want to upgrade ram and hard drive. Thanks for all the advice.
