    HEY, i have decided to buy the Hp. dv5000t lappy and i will be buying it with 512mb ram (1x512). i am only buying that because i will be upgrading it with a nother 1Gb ram. so in total i will 1.5Gb of ram. is this a good route as to upgrading. or what would you do in my situation. also what ram would you sugguest i buy off newegg.

    also if i have two different sized sticks will i still get the dual processors to work.

    You mean dual channel?? For that you"ll need 2 similar memory modules. You can add any different size memory you want, it will have no effect of on your cpu being dual processor(dual core).

    Having dual channel memory is not necessary, but it will provide the extra bandwidth needed by Photoshop and other bandwidth starved applications, for regular use(surfing, some games, word) it really does not matter whether the RAM is dual channel or not.
