what is the better deal 2 sticks of 1gb ram for $170.00,
or 1 stick of 2gb ram for $150.00. or are they the same amount of performance, i wasnt sure if 2 sticks were better.
thanks

If you have 2 sticks at 1GB a peice, and they are Dual Channel, I think thats the best bet. I am very new, so just stating my opinion!!

Where did you find a single 2gb-dimm?
Dual Channel doesnt offer much of a performance increase. -

Yeah man, hook us up with that 2GB stick!!!
-
im buying it online off amazon,( i couldnt find one at newegg.com) if you think the 2 gb stick is the better deal, im all for it, plus i could porbably grab another
-
ill give you the guys email.......after i buy my stuff
-
goodluck with your purchase...i don't trust amazon...hehe
i trust crucial -
The most important thing is to have enough memory. Second is to have it run dual channel. After that, you can start fiddling with the actual memory speed and timings. -
dual channel adds about a 5% increase all other things being equal.
that price seems pretty low for 2 gbs of notebook ram. are you sure it's not for a desktop? -
Yes that price seems very low. The only time its worth bothering with 2gb sticks is when your going to have a system with 4gb total which very few people actually need though in the future we may (vista is a hog!)
If you do get a 2gb stick I recommend crucial. -
wow, thats REALLY cheap? is this laptop or desktop ram?

dammit! Link!
I highly doubt your gonna get a single 2gb dimm for that much. -
its laptop, believe me. i thought it was cheap too. if there are any problems ill get my money back. i dont have a link b/c im buying from the guy directly. it is dual channel. i will probably couple it with a 512 stick i have.
Ram help!! 2gb stick
